Dawn Baxton, member of the Durham County Board of Elections, presented important and timely election information at the Durham Committee’s Annual Meeting. She provided clear guidance on voting options and key deadlines for this election cycle, ensuring voters are informed and prepared. Voters were reminded that Photo ID is required in North Carolina, and individuals should confirm they have an acceptable form of identification before heading to the polls. Durham County will offer eight Early Voting sites, giving residents multiple opportunities to cast their ballots prior to Election Day. However, on Election Day, voters must report to their assigned precinct polling location. Additionally, all ballots — including absentee ballots — must be received by the Durham County Board of Elections no later than 7:30 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. Her presentation underscored the importance of planning ahead and exercising the right to vote with confidence and clarity.
